Oneida County Looks To Boost Tourism:
Oneida County is looking at ways to bring people both near and far here to Central New York! The president of Oneida County's Tourism Bureau is focusing on re-tooling the website. They're also creating a plan for selling prospective tourists both local and distant on Oneida County online. They hope to hire a PR firm that will further market Oneida County as summer begins.

Bernanke Sees Turnaround:
Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke says the economy should pull out of a recession and start growing again later this year. He made the comments today before Congress' Joint Economic Committee. Bernanke warned even after a recovery gets under way, economic activity is likely to be sub par.

W.H.O. Distributing Antiflu Treatments:
The world health organization says it's starting to ship 2-point-4 million treatments of antiflu drugs to the 72 countries
"most in need." This, in an effort to combat the swine flu. The agency declined to name the countries, but said they included Mexico, which has been hardest hit by the outbreak.

Giacona Case in Court:
The boy accused of killing his father in Vernon will have his case in Oneida County Court Wednesday. Joseph Giacona III won't be there, but attorneys will discuss his fate, and the direction this case will take. Psychiatric exams have been completed as well. Based upon those, the prosecution will decide what course of action to take.

New London Fire Investigation Continues:
The investigation continues into a fire that left at least 10 people homeless. The blaze broke out just after 11 Monday night along County Highway 50 in New London. Fire crews say it started in the garage and spread to the house. Firefighters got the fire under control in about an hour.
