More Layoffs At ConMed:
Medical supplier ConMed has announced another round of layoffs. This, after they announced the closing of their Broad Street location last summer. These 12 jobs will be lost from the French Road location. A company official says they are a part of the restructuring announced last summer. The state labor department website had no layoff date, but listed July 31st as the closing date of that particular unit. The company did not see any further layoffs in the near future.

Frankfort Man Arrested Over Alleged Illicit Pictures:
A Frankfort man is behind bars. This, after Little Falls Police say he exchanged obscene photos over a cell phone with an 11 year old and then attempted to set up a meeting with the minor. 57 year old Edgar Kelsey is facing charges of disseminating indecent material to minors and endangering the welfare of a child.

Utica TVL Decision Could Come Next Week:
The Utica and Rome School District's applied to join the Tri-Valley League which said no. Yet a higher authority, Section III, said yes. Now the state's athletic brain trust will decide. It comes as Utica's superintendent is heading to Albany to voice his concerns. A three person panel will make a decision which is final. That decision is unlikely to be released until next week.

Health Officials Work To Make Swine Flu Vaccine:
Health officials say they have moved quickly to identify the genetic characteristics of the Swine Flu virus and are in a good position to produce a vaccine if one is needed. After the outbreak, health officials say they managed to pinpoint the new virus within two weeks. They add that should a vaccine be needed, they can work quickly to make one.
