He suggested using a portion of the stimulus that isn't marked for a specific purpose and weeding out more Medicaid fraud.

Americans feeling anxious about the economy will get another nugget of good news today. Analysts say most banks passed their stress tests. The formal results of the government's check up on banks will be revealed this afternoon. Information that trickled out indicates most institutions are not in as bad shape as feared.

NYRI Seeks New Hearing:
The power struggle has re-ignited! NYRI has asked for a re-hearing regarding its power line application. This comes as Congressman Michael Arcuri called on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to reject NYRI's request. No word right now on when a possible hearing would even take place.

Driver's Condition Worsens:
An 18 year-old injured in a head-on crash has been downgraded to critical condition at a Syracuse hospital. Police say Kenneth Tousley of Mannsville was heading south in a Toyota yesterday afternoon. Officers say another vehicle in front of the Toyota had stopped to make a turn. Thats when Tousley lost control, and swerved into the northbound lane, colliding with another car.

UPD's Burglary Unit Back In Action:
UPD's burglary unit has been resurrected. It was disbanded three years ago but numbers showed the need to bring it back. Since 2006, burglaries were spread out among detectives who were handling various other crimes. So far, it's getting results. The unit has made five arrests in the past two weeks.
