Utica School Budget Passes:
Good news for Utica students this morning. The Utica School budget passed last night, but it wasn't a landslide victory for the areas largest school district. At stake was the $129 million proposal that was passed by a margin of 1898 to 1459. The budget carries a 1.9 % increase for tax payers. That means a 3 percent increase in overall spending.

Brindisi Wins School Board Seat:
The newest member of the Utica School Board is Anthony Brindisi. There were five candidates running. Brindisi claimed the victory by a margin of 3 to 1.

Most School Budgets Pass:
While most school districts are celebrating another year of approved funding, despite tough economic times, the picture is uncertain for 5 school districts. Voters defeated school budgets in the districts of Mohawk, Madison, Owen D. Young, Oriskany and Worcester. 33 school budgets in our area passed.

New Hartford Teen Facing Charges After Accident:
Police say a New Hartford teenager is lucky to be alive this morning after a drinking and driving accident. 19 year-old Brianna Moyer crashed her car into a telephone poll cutting it in half late last night. The accident happened in New Hartford on Sanger Ave. Moyer was sent to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries. She is charged with DWI, consumption of alcohol, and failure to keep right.

House to Vote on Credit Card Bill:
The House is expected to pass sweeping new restrictions on the credit card industry today. This one day after the Senate passed the bill. The measure includes a requirement that customers penalized by higher interest rates because they missed a payment, are given a chance to reclaim their lower rate after 6 months. The Senate approved the measure Tuesday.
