UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Oneida County Health Department says they're encouraging people to get the H1N1 vaccine and the seasonal flu vaccine.

Officials ordered doses of the swine flu vaccine last week and have been devising a plan on how to best distribute it. Health Department Quality and Improvement Coordinator Cathe Bullwinkle said once the H1N1 vaccine arrives, with parental consent, there will be a mass vaccination of school kids.

Healthcare workers will be required to get an H1N1 vaccination, and pregnant women, and college kids are also encouraged to get it.

Bullwinkle said there will be enough doses of H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccine for anyone who needs it.

The H1N1 vaccine should arrive in Oneida County by mid-October. It will cost about $15 per dose.
