Whitestown flu clinic runs out of vaccine in 30 minutes

WHITESTOWN, N.Y. (WKTV) - 30 minutes - that's how long it took Thursday to run out of the seasonal flu vaccine at a local clinic at the Whitestown Community Center.

The clinic was supposed to run 1-5 p.m., and people started lining up outside at about 8:45 a.m.

The Oneida County Health Department wasn't at all surprised by how quickly they ran out. However, if you missed out Thursday, don't worry - more is on the way.

"We do expect another shipment of about 600 doses of influenza vaccine from the State Health Department...where this vaccine came from which is why the charge is only $10," Claudia Held of the Health Department said. "We have another 100 doses coming from one of the manufacturers before the end of the month."

Roughly 400 shots were administered at Thursday's event.
