Solid Waste Authority hosts waste collection for important documents and medications
UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority is hosting a week of activities in honor of Green is Universal Week.
The two biggest events are a confidential paper shredding and a medication collection and disposal. Bill Rabbis, executive director of the waste authority says it's important to dispose of these unwanted medications properly. "They've studied a number of rivers and streams and found that 80% of the streams and rivers they've studied have trace amount of improperly disposed of pharmaceuticals," Rabbia said. Both of the big events are happening on April 25 at the Solid Waste Authority's household hazardous waste collection facility on Leland Ave in Utica. Most Popular |
