Environmentally-friendly golf carts make their way to Valley View Golf Course

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - On Friday, the City of Utica unveiled 50 new environmentally-friendly golf carts at the city's Valley View course.

The carts are fuel efficient and actually are roomier, along with having canopies that cover not only the riders, but the clubs.

"These golf carts run on one cylinder, they are energy efficient, they use far less gas than they used to in the past," said Utica Mayor David Roefaro.

The mayor also announced a "Lease-a-Seat" program, where you can actually pay a one time $550 fee to lease a golf cart for the season, that way you don't have to pay for a rental every time you golf.
