AGREEMENT REACHED: Reaction from Assemblywoman Destito
UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Assemblywoman RoAnn Destito reacted to the agreement reached between Oneida County and the Oneida Indian Nation. Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente announced the plans at the county office building. MAY 8th: DESTITO'S STATEMENT: I applaud Picente's decision to hold a meeting in the near future to give the public a change to comment on it. Initially, I believe that if approved, this proposal can encourage the state to come to a resolution on the issue of sales taxes paid by non-Indians a Oneida Nation-owned businesses. In the coming days, I will be examining the proposal carefully, and listening to the views of my constituents, members of the Oneida County Board of Legislators who must vote on it, and everyone else would be affected by this agreement."
