If passed, how will the Partnership Plan money be distributed?

By By PAT BAILEY

(WKTV) - If the proposed Partnership Plan is approved by the Oneida County Board of Legislators, and then an agreement is reached with the state, the plan will put millions of dollars in Oneida County communities.

If the plan moves forward, Oneida County will distribute two-thirds of the up front $30 million it will receive from the Oneida Indian Nation. That distribution will go to all the cities, towns and villages in the county.

City of Utica officials say they commend the county executive for reaching an agreement, but at this point, they still haven't read the whole thing, so are not committing to, or rejecting the plan.

The City of Utica would receive $2,575,753 if the plan is approved.

New Hartford would receive the most money of all the towns in the county, with $751,861. Town Supervisor, Earle Reed, says he is in favor of the deal, and would like to now see the State of New York get more aggressive. "We will use the money to keep property taxes down," reed said. "People are hurting in this area, and we will use it to keep taxes down."

Of all the villages in the county, Whitesboro would receive the most money at $167,453. The Mayor of Whitesboro, Richard Pugh, says any extra revenue is good. "It helps with the budget process and we will put it to good use," Pugh said. "Most likely we will use it for infrastructure repairs. It will be put to practical use."
