`Tea Party' Republican seeks GOP line for governor
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Republican Warren Redlich says he's seeking
the GOP line for governor in New York against Rick Lazio. He says he wants the Libertarian Party line as well as the Republican nomination to represent the anti-establishment Tea Party wing of the party, which held high-profile protests last year against President Barack Obama's proposed health care reform. Redlich, a lawyer from Guilderland in Albany County, is making the announcement Monday. Redlich was a legal counsel in New York for Republican Rep. Ron Paul, who ran for the 2008 GOP presidential nomination on an anti-tax, anti-Iraq war platform. Lazio, a former congressman from Long Island, has been running for the nomination since September. The only announced Democratic candidate is Gov. David Paterson. (Copyright 2010 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) Most Popular |
