Decision 2008

Andrew Donovan

Senator John McCain took all 57 delegate votes from Florida in last night's Republican Primary,  He won by a small margin over Former Governor Mitt Romney with Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani coming in third. This is a crucial win for McCain as the next contested races are on  Super Tuesday,  February 5th  where 23 states are up for grabs. Mike Huckabee said, “We’re playing all nine innings of this ball game," referring to his fourth place position in the projections.

On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton won the state of Florida, although it is less significant because delegates were not awarded.

Following the events of the night, Republican Rudy Giuliani and Democrat John Edwards both dropped out of their respective presidential bids.
