Decision 2008

Following the Florida Primaries Tuesday night, Democrat John Edwards and Republican Rudy Giuliani both announce that they will end their presidential bids.

John Edwards said he would 'step aside' during a press conference in New Orleans. There is no word on which remaining candidate would receive his endorsement, although he said it will be a historic win for his party. John Edwards came in third in Florida and also trails third in total delegates won so far. Edwards' campaign has been credited with focusing talk by all three Democratic candidates on the struggles of the middle and lower class. His campaign has also been conducted  through personal hardships, including the announcement that his wife, Elizabeth, is battling a relapse of cancer.

Rudy Giuliani announced that he would be dropping out of the race for the Republican bid. The news broke late Wednesday night following the primary in Florida. Giuliani finished a distant third to John McCain, and  to second-place finisher Mitt Romney.
