It appears that Anthony Picente will continue on as Oneida County Executive with a lead of 27,377 votes shortly after 11:00 PM. with 50 out of 51 Districts reporting in at that point. His opponent, Democrat Leon Koziol, had 19,304 votes at that point.

Picente cast his vote at 10:00 this morning at Fort Stanwix Elementary School in Rome, with his wife by his side. Picente has held this seat for ten months.

His opponent, local attorney Leon Koziol, is voting this afternoon. But this morning, he's been doing some last minute campaigning at local diners.

"I'm very pleased with the campaign and the people who have worked with me," Koziol said. "We are people oriented...they come up to my diner seat whereever im at or a coffee bar they are more likely to chat with you."

"We just sat back and said...'we've done everything we could possibly do,'" Picente said. "We feel confident in getting our message across...just feel confident we did all we could do. And now it's in the hands of the voters."
