Roefaro Announces Public Safety Transition Team

Sports WKTV

Utica mayor elect Dave Roefaro has announced his transition team. Roefaro says the team is only a committee that will help study and fight crime in the city of Utica.

Roefaro says nobody on the list has been given a paid job and nobody currently working for the city has been replaced.

The newly elected mayor says all 10 of these people have a background in public safety. The list includes:

Dan LaBella, a retired Utica police officer and a member of the Oneida County public safety committee.

Jennifer Asker, a former lieutenant on the Utica police department, and currently an officer with the Oneida Indian Nation.

Bill Phillips, who is currently on the common council and part of the current Utica public safety committee.

Richard Stemmer, a deputy chief with the Utica police department

Utica Fire Chief Russ Brooks.

Utica school board member Chris Salatino.

Dawn Lupi, an Oneida County Assistant District Attorney and Bureau chief of the special victims unit.

Utica Weed and Seed coordinator Robert Palmieri.

Utica Police Department Sergeant and P.B.A. president Tom Brady.

Mark Ambrose, a lieutenant on the Utica fire department, and the department's union rep.

Mayor elect Roefaro says, "My administration is going to be proactive. Before I take office in January, I want to gather as much information as I can about crime and other public safety issues so I can explore solutions as soon as possible."
