ALBANY - Funding to fight New York Regional Interconnect's proposed power lines.  Tuesday, the State Assembly passed a bill to help counties fight NYRI's proposed power line project.

If it is signed into law the legislation would provide up to $450,000 to help municipalities and citizens groups pay for consultants and legal fees in the battle against electric transmission projects.

Under the new legislation the Public Service Commission would be responsible for determining how the grant money is dispersed.
