Central New Yorkers Continuing to Fight the Power Line Project

No one in attendance opposed a local law that would prevent construction of the power line. However, they were quite passionate about their opposition to the power line. Mayor Tim Julian acknowledges that this moratorium most likely will not stop the power line. But, he says it can tie things up in court, buy time, and make it that much more difficult for NYRI to build the power lines here.
