"Linda Dillon has extensive experience in a wide range of legal issues and is well respected for her knowledge," Griffo said. "By naming her as the Acting County Attorney, we are able to have a full-time leader for the County Attorney's Office and eliminate the need to hire additional staff. I salute Linda for her willingness to increase her workload by taking on this extra responsibility."

Griffo said that even before Caldwell had left, at Griffo's direction, staff in the County Attorney's Office were being brought into complex legal issues such as the Oneida Indian Land Claim and NYRI power line fight, so that there could be a smooth transition.

Griffo said that over the next few months, he will review the structure of the County Attorney's office. "My policy for filling vacancies at the Department Head level has been consistent. Before there is any permanent replacement named, we need to determine if the position or the office needs to be restructured."
