WEST HENRIETTA- Today, June 12th, officials with the Department of Energy are holding a meeting in West Henrietta on New York Regional Interconnect's Corridor Project.

The Department of Energy recently designated eight counties in New York State as part of a national interest cooridor. The new regulations allow officials in Washington to approve power lines over local opposition.

Lawmakers, including Congressman Michael Arcuri, plan to be in attendance and to present letters and petitions to read to DOE officials.

The meeting is being held from noon till 7pm at the RIT Inn and Conference Center in West Henrietta, and is open to the public.
