Utica charged for cocaine possession

UTICA - A Utica man faces charges after he was found in possession of high grade cocaine while in en route to Utica from New York City.

Henry Caban, 30, of Miller Street in Utica, was charged with one count of first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Caban was interdicted by the New York State Police Cnet Central Unit with assistance from the New York State Police Troopers at the Utica interchange, entering the City of Utica enroute from New York City. Caban had in his possession approximately nine ounces of high grade cocaine which was secreted inside his vehicle.

The street value of the seized cocaine is in excess of $15,000, police said.

Caban was held at the Utica City Jail awaiting arraignment in Utica City Court.

A second subject who was in the vehicle was not charged at the time.

An investigation is ongoing.
