Man accused of abusing 6-year old while babysitting pleads not-guilty

UTICA - The Utica man accused of sexually abusing a 6-year-old girl he was babysitting pleaded not guilty Wednesday.

Michael Chicherchia faces several charges, including predatory sexual assault of a child and three counts of sexual abuse.

He entered a not guilty plea today in Oneida County Court, and the Oneida County District Attorney's Office extended a plea offer. Chicherchia is due back in court March 5 to let the judge know if he wants to accept the offer, or go to trial.
