Teen involved in Utica Police Officer assault sentenced

UTICA - A Utica teen who admitted assaulting a Utica Police Officer last summer was sent to prison today.

Hector McClain pleaded guilty to second degree assault last month just minutes before a hearing was to begin, and just minutes after watching surveillance video of the assault.

McClain risked seven years in prison if convicted at trial. In exchange for his guilty plea, he will spend the next four years in state prison for the assault on Utica Police Officer Dzenan Sabanovic.
