BINGHAMTON (AP) - A senior federal judge says an upstate
woman accused of selling a 12-year-old girl for sex to her landlord will remain behind bars.

A federal magistrate had agreed to release 46-year-old Linda O'Connor of Norwich under electronic monitoring pending her trial later this month. Magistrate George Lowe agreed with a federal public defender that there was a lack of evidence against O'Connor beyond the statements made by the alleged victim.

But U.S. District Judge Thomas McAvoy says O'Connor must remain
behind bars because she remains a flight risk and a threat to the
community.

O'Connor and her landlord, Dean Sacco, are scheduled for trial
together on sex trafficking and child pornography charges beginning
April 28.
