By DAVID DELLECESE

WEST WINFIELD - A West Winfield woman has been charged after authorities say she stabbed her live-in boyfriend in front of her two children.

New York State Police from East Herkimer and Richfield Springs responded to a 911 call at 1145 US-20 in the Town of West Winfield for a domestic dispute.

According to New York State Police, Rachel L. DeBoer, 37, who lived at the residence, allegedly had an argument with her live-in boyfriend when she went after him with four kitchen knives and stabbed in the hands, arms, and back, causing numerous minor lacerations.

DeBoer has been charged with second-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and two counts of endangering the child.

The boyfriend was treated by the West Winfield Ambulance and Fire Department personnel at the scene and refused further medical treatment.

Police say the stabbing took place in the presence of DeBoer's 9 year old daughter and 12 year old son, leading to the charges of endangering the welfare of a child.

DeBoer was arraigned in the Town of Winfield Court and was remanded to the Herkimer County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash or bail or $20,000 bond and is scheduled to reappear in the Town Court on May 14.
