Man convicted in 1975 college student murder dead at 74

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - A man convicted in the death of a local college student years ago passed away on Monday.

The Department of Corrections said that Donald Sigsbee died at the age of 74 of natural causes at the Mohawk Correctional Facility in Rome.

Sigsbee went to prison for the murder of 19-year-old Regina Reynolds, who was a student in Morrisville.

Prosecutors focused on DNA from a soda straw to convict Sigsbee.

The crime happened in 1975.
