Two facing charges after Oneida methamphetamine bust

ONEIDA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Two Oneida men are facing charges from what police said is the result of manufacturing and possessing methamphetamines.

According to Oneida Police, officers conducted an investigation into the unlawful making of methamphetamines, which lead to a search warrant executed at 6 am on November 15 at 127 Farrier Ave in Oneida.

New York State Police Special Operations Response Team and Specialized emergency Response Team entered the building and conducted the search.

David P. Schwartz, 41, and Richard S. Dority, 43, of the residence were both arrested and charged. Schwartz is charged with third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamines and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Dority is charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance for his alleged possession of methamphetamine and criminal possession of a hypodermic needle.

Police said Schwartz is alleged to have unlawfully possessed methamphetamine, a controlled substance, and possess lab equipment that is used in the manufacture of methamphetamine that tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine by a New York State Police Chemist. In addition, he is alleged to have possessed chemicals commonly used in the manufacturing of methamphetamines.

Schwartz was arraigned in Oneida City Court and sent to Madison County Jail in lieu of bail set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond to appear in Oneida City Court on November 20.

Dority will appear in Oneida City Court on December 4.

Police said additional charges are pending and that a specialized company responded from Pennsylvania to remove hazardous waste form the scene.

Among property seized by police include; equipment commonly used for the manufacture of methamphetamines, syringes, several pills, marijuana, drug scale, cash, meth and a surveillance camera.
