WESTMORELAND, N.Y. (WKTV) - State Police continue to investigate what they say was a serious stabbing in Westmoreland Monday night, wrapping up a press conference just before Noon on Tuesday regarding the incident.

According to State Police, a neighbor's 911 call Monday night brought authorities to the home of Todd C. Smith's parents at 205 Pazdur Boulevard in Westmoreland around 9:40 p.m. on March 8.

Upon arrival, police found Todd Smith, 34, of Frankfort, in the street, bleeding, and his estranged wife - Jenise Haddad-Smith- 48, also of Frankfort, in the house, also wounded.

Police say records show there were numerous 911 calls from the couple's former home on Haddad Road in Frankfort, but they couldn't immediately determine if any or all of them were for domestic disputes. The couple have two small children.

Police said that the case only involved the couple. What they don't know is if the two stabbed each other, or if one stabbed the other, then his or herself.

However, they do say Jenise Haddad Smith's injuries were more severe. She's in ICU at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Police are not saying if one weapon caused the couple's injuries, but they've only recovered one weapon from the scene.

State Police talked to Todd Smith, whose injuries were less severe, but have not released what he said.
