Flaco originally told officers that Rivera's uncle shot Officer Lindsey

By JOLEEN FERRIS

UTICA - Wesley Molina-Cirino is accused of shooting Utica Police Officer Thomas Lindsey shortly after Lindsey had pulled over a car on Neilson Street in Utica in April of last year.

Day four of testimony in Cirino's murder trial wrapped up Friday afternoon.

On Friday, a Spanish-speaking Utica Police Officer spoke about translating questions to the defendant just days after officer Lindsey was shot.

At the time, Cirino was being questioned as a potential witness - not a suspect.

Officer Raymond Maldonado said that, at times, Cirino would answer an investigator's English questions in Spanish before Maldonado had a chance to translate them into Spanish.

He said that Cirino told investigators on April 17 - five days after Officer Lindsey was killed - that he'd run into Sammy Rivera's uncle. Rivera is the man Officer Lindsey had pulled over moments before he was shot and killed on April 12.

Cirino told investigators that on April 17, that Rivera's uncle told him who killed Officer Lindsey.
