By JOLEEN FERRIS

UTICA - Sadness and pride for Utica Police Officers and the family of Officer Thomas Lindsey, shot and killed during a traffic stop last year.

Wednesday, one week after being honored in Washington D.C, Lindsey is being remembered in Albany as his name is inscribed on the State's Law Enforcement Memorial.

Roughly 25 Utica Police Officers along with members of Officer Lindsey's family, headed to Albany Wednesday, as Lindsey's name was added to the State of New York Police Officer's Memorial.

The ceremony is at 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, but Lindsey's family and Utica Police Officers started gathering at Utica Police Headquarters around 8 a.m. Wednesday morning.

They're bringing motorcycles to take part in a procession to the memorial. Lindsey's name will be on that wall now, and he will be on the minds of his fellow officers as they make the 90 minute trip to Albany.

"Most definitely he'll be on everybody's mind; we miss him terribly," said Captain Lawrence Pawlinga. "Most of us still remember the day that Tommy was killed. And we were all there, and it's definitely going to be on our minds. We're going to be thinking about him and it'll be nice that we will be remembering him in a permanent fashion in the State of New York."

Officer Lindsey's name will be added to the State of New York Police Officer's Memorial along with six others.
