Since the death of Utica Police Officer Thomas Lindsey, the community continues to show its support to his family and the police department. One way that residents are reaching out is by holding a benefit concert.

Nedim Mujic started a website in honor of Officer Lindsey two days after he was gunned down; he then decided to expand his idea even further and organize a benefit concert.

Mujic says the response he received once he put up the website has been overwhelming, “People started sending me e-mails saying thank you and they started calling also it was beautiful what I did and it was touching and every time I update the website I feel he's like next to me saying thank you for doing something with it with it because the killer is still at large.”

The benefit concert for Officer Lindsey is Saturday, May 12th from 3 to 11 pm; it will be at the new Hartford Recreation Center. Tickets are $15 for families and $5 for individuals.

You can contact Mujic at 254-3255 or go to www.thomaslindsey.com for more information.

Also volunteers are needed to assist with the concert; a meeting is expected to take place on Friday, May 11th at 6 pm at the New Hartford recreation center.
