Officer Thomas Lindsey - Killed in the Line of Duty

Nate Crossett

A benefit concert in honor of fallen Utica Police Officer Thomas Lindsey is happening this weekend.

On Saturday, the New Hartford Rec. Center will be filled with the sounds of six different local bands.  Event organizer Nedin Mujic says the idea came about after he launched a website in honor of Officer Lindsey.

"When I cam here," says Mujic, "the community helped me.  Their lives are totally different than Europe.  I'm trying to give back to the community... by raising money for PBA and the Thomas Lindsey Fund."

If you're interested in attending, the event takes place at the New Hartford Recreation Center on Saturday, from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.  Six bands are scheduled to perform, including Showtime, Rowland London, and Uncle Sam.

The cost is $15 per family or $5 for an individual.
