Firefighters come out on top in Police-Firefighter challenge

UTICA – Utica Police officers and firefighters proved to be in tip-top shape to cross the finish line.

But only the firefighters walked away with bragging rights.

The coveted trophy belongs to the firehouse, after today’s race, but both teams of five gave it their all.

Police finished with an average time of one hour, 25 minutes.

On top for the brothers in blue was James Watson.

He finished in 1 hour, 13 minutes, 5 seconds.

The firefighters averaged 1 hour, 8 minutes, and 16 seconds.

Mello Testa, junior crossed the line at 1 hour, 2 minutes, and 38 seconds.

Both teams were running in honor of fallen Officer Thomas Lindsey,
