Golf tournament honors memory of fallen police officer

Dave Dellecese

UTICA – It has been several months since the death of Utica Police Officer Thomas Lindsey, but today he is being remembered.

Friends, family, and co-workers are at Valley View Golf Club in Utica to remember Lindsey, who was killed in the line of duty in April.

The money raised today will go into a memorial fund in Lindsey's name. Participants hope to make this an annual event.

“It's good to have the guys,” said Captain Clay Stevens with the Utica Police Department. “They've worked hard since Tom's death...continue to work on case...to have a break is good for everyone.”

A motorcycle ride is also planned in the memory of Officer Lindsey in September.
