Stanley Chandelier construction progresses as re-opening day nears

By KRISTEN COPELAND

UTICA - The Stanley Center for the Arts is looking brighter with each passing day. Now that it has the worlds largest chandelier hanging from the ceiling.

The 6,000 pound metal and acryllic fixture, designed by Meyda Lighting, is starting to take shape above the balcony. The chandelier is so big that it had to be delivered in 24 pieces, and it's custom fit to make history.

The design was fabricated to fit the décor of the Stanley Center for the Arts. Meyda Officials say the LED light bulbs in the chandelier will not have to be changed for 50 years.

With nine days to go, the chandelier will be unvieled to the public at the grand re-opening of the theater on April 3.
