CNY Remembers:9-11 memorial services held all over the Mohawk Valley
(WKTV) - Nearly two dozen local events took place to mark the anniversary of the September 11, 2011 terror attacks. From Oneida County to Herkimer County, local residents all over remembered those who lost their lives.
In Ilion, a piece of steel from the World Trade Center was dedicated in a memorial service along with a moment of silence being held at 8:30 a.m. NEWSChannel 2's news director Steve McMurray was the master of ceremonies. A multi-religion service was held at the Three Steeples United in Paris. Christian, Jewish and Muslim faiths came together to lead the service. The annual Patriot's Day event was held at the Newport Volunteer Fire Department for its tenth year. Other events were held in the City of Sherrill, Yorkville, Whitesboro and St. Johnsville among many other places. Most Popular |
