Genesis Group takes a look at Utica's "master plan"

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Utica Master Plan is slowly beginning to take shape, and Thursday, the steering committee's work was been developed and presented to the public, even though embryonic stages.

Thursday morning at the Hotel Utica, the rough draft of the plan was presented to the Genesis Group. So far, a series of subcommittees have met and discussed just what makes a city. Each of them kept coming back to one common theme: downtown rejuvenation.

"All the committees focused on making Utica the center of the region and developing each interest so that the city becomes the center of the region," said Director of City Planning Brian Thomas.

The final plan is to be delivered to the city next month.
