Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi hears from new constituents
FRANKFORT, N.Y. (WKTV) - Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi held a town hall meeting Saturday morning to hear from some of his new constituents. He said, "The reason I chose Frankfort is because it's a new part of my district. Because of redistricting, I now represent the 119th District, which includes the Town of Frankfort." Brindisi listened closely to what the small group that gathered had to day. He said, "We heard people talk about the gun control legislation, we heard about hydrofracking, we heard people talking about jobs in Upstate New York." One of those who showed up to the Town Hall on Saturday was Village of Frankfort Fire Chief Chuck Conigliaro. The chief said, "I came both as a village resident and as the Fire Chief to address some issues involving the fire service." Conigliaro says it's always good for people to engage in a conversation with their representatives. He said, "I was very happy to again meet the assemblyman, and to find out he is sponsoring a bill to help local volunteer ambulance companies be able to bill for their services so they can continue to operate." The biggest topic the assemblyman seems to be hearing about is the most recent, the new gun control laws just passed, and on Saturday he received input about what kind of amendments can now be made.
