Robert Cardillo, Republican Candidate for Utica Mayor

Robert Cardillo was born and raised in Utica. He graduated from Notre Dame High School and has been married to his wife Claudia for 32 years. They have two children, Nick and Bob Jr.
He learned early on about the importance of hard work from his grandparents who emigrated to this country from Italy.
Bob is an accomplished executive with extensive senior management experience in both the public and private sector. He most recently served as Disaster Recovery Coordinator for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) representing the South East region. He also served as Senior Advisor to the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development where he coordinated HUD's federal disaster response activities in Mississippi following Hurricane Katrina.
Mr. Cardillo previously served as HUD's Director of Community Planning and Development in New York City where he managed the federal disaster monies that aided the recovery of Lower Manhattan following the 9/11 attacks. Prior to serving in the Federal Government, Cardillo worked for Mayor Rudolph Giuliani managing New York City's public affairs activities for the NYCOTB Corporation.
Bob gained his economic development expertise here in the Mohawk Valley as the Director and Regional Director of the New York State Power Authority and the New York State Empire State Development Corporation. He was CEO/President of International Marking Group INC, an OEM Manufacturing company selling high tech marking equipment to the aerospace and automotive industry internationally. He also was President of Columbia Place Development Corporation, a commercial Real-estate development company in Upstate NY. Earlier in his career, Mr. Cardillo worked on Capitol Hill as Legislative Assistant to Congressman Donald J. Mitchell.
He currently serves as the Chairman and CEO of the Cardinal Organization, a government affairs and public policy consulting firm and was formerly on the adjunct faculty for the State University of New York (Utica/Rome Campus). He is currently on the adjunct faculty at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and is also an adjunct professor at Mohawk Valley Community College where he teaches Public Policy.
Mr. Cardillo holds a Law Degree from the University of West Los Angeles and is a graduate of Utica College of Syracuse University.
