Claudia Tenney leads Republican primary by 800 votes

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - Claudia Tenney has an 800-vote lead over opponent George Joseph in the Republican primary for the 115th Assembly Race.

Tenney was confident Tuesday night at her campaign party held at Cavallo's but would not declare herself a winner. She said that there were still some missing precinct reports from Oswego County, where the 115th district has territory beyond Oneida County.

As of Tuesday night, Tenney was already thinking about her goals as assemblywoman. She said, "I'd really like to start right away on term limits, get us back to a citizen legislature."

This race did not have an official winner as of early Wednesday morning. The Oneida County Board of Elections said vote counting will continue Wednesday to tabulate who will move on to the November race.
