Monday is final day to postmark absentee ballots

By ANDREW DONOVAN

(WKTV) - All absentee ballots must be postmarked Monday, November 5 to be counted in the 2012 election, according to the New York State Board of Elections.

Voters who already received their absentee ballot need to postmark it by Monday November 5.

Voters who have not yet applied for an absentee ballot may obtain one in person at their county Board of Elections also on Monday.

The Board of Elections has approved an extension of the deadline for absentee ballots to be received and counted from seven days after Election Day to 13 days after Election Day, but ballots must still be postmarked no later than Monday, November 5th. They now have until November 19th to arrive at the local Board of Elections.
