Oneida County Executive candidates cast their votes

By HILARY LANE

ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. (WKTV) - Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente cast his ballot Tuesday morning at Fort Stanwix Elementary School in Rome, while his challenger, Conservative Candidate Rodger Potocki, voted at Hughes Elementary School in New Hartford.

Republican Incumbent Picente was joined by his wife, Eleanor, and said he will be spending the day relaxing and meeting with voters at the polls.

Potocki was also joined by his wife and says he is hoping that voter turn-out is high this year and that all citizens exercise their democratic right.

Both candidates discussed what their immediate plans are if they win the election tonight.

"When I enter office, I am going to cut the budget in half and save on
the first day over $200,000 of the taxpayers' money," Potocki said.

"I think a lot of what we are working on has to do with these finances in these difficult times and how to manage that in the constraints of the budget," Picente said.
