Republicans hold on to majority in Oneida County Legislature, eight districts switch parties

ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. (WKTV) - Every single Oneida County Board of Legislators seat was up this election year, but only 12 were contested.

Currently, Republicans hold the majority status in the legislature 18-11.

Voters headed to the polls and had the ability to change that. When election night's results take effect, the Oneida County Board of Legislators keeps a Republican majority but it is now 16-13.

Eight districts voted in new legislators with a different party than the incumbent.
