Frankfort parents upset over no public comment at school meeting

By WKTV News

FRANKFORT, N.Y. (WKTV) - Monday night, some Frankfort parents, still reeling over last week's decision by the Frankfort School Board to close West Frankfort Elementary School, are claiming the meeting when the decision took place was "illegal."

They say the public was not given a chance to voice their opinion, and the meeting didn't meet state requirements.

However, according to Frankfort School Superintendent Robert Reina, the board had the option to allow input at the meeting and chose not to.

Reina says it was their decision and the meeting was not illegal.

Parents, however, say they will be attending Tuesday night's school board meeting and will be voicing their opinions.
