Assemblyman Butler to hold second session on gun control law

By HILARY LANE

SALISBURY, N.Y. (WKTV) - Assemblyman Marc Butler is holding a second informational session on Governor Andrew Cuomo's gun control law Wednesday night in Salisbury.

The idea is to give residents a chance to voice their concerns and have their questions answered.

The first meeting was held Monday in Gloversville and there was such a large turnout that hundreds had to be turned away because of fire code in the building.

Assemblyman Butler said he agrees with many of his constituents who feel like the bill was passed just too quickly.

"New York went farther and faster and as a consequence, I think there are a lot of mistakes," Butler said. "It rushed through and as everyone knows, the Governor used a message of necessity so it was voted on immediately."

The event will take place at 6:30 p.m. at Salisbury Ridgerunners Club in Salisbury.
