Governor Cuomo arrives in Capitol; starts working
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is in the house. The Democrat arrived early at the Capitol where his father,
former Governor Mario Cuomo, presided for three terms. Andrew Cuomo held a private meeting with his cabinet at 8:30 a.m. in a public schedule choreographed to show his resolve to tackle the state's fiscal and ethical crises. Cuomo plans a low-key inaugural ceremony at noon followed by a reception line at the governor's mansion for New Yorkers who obtained tickets a week ago. Legislative leaders are scheduled to attend the noon event. The state is facing a deficit of as much as $1 billion and a projected deficit of about $10 billion in the budget due April 1.
