Brindisi announces $6 million to upgrade Utica storm sewers

By NEWSChannel 2 Staff

Assemblymember Anthony J. Brindisi says that the State Assembly is awarding six million dollars for a project to separate the storm sewer collection process from the sewage treatment collection system.

The project is currently listed on the New York State Transportation Department’s Statewide Transportation Improvement Program for Region 2, which includes the Mohawk Valley Region.

“I helped appropriate this transportation aid through the NY Works capital program, which was first established last year. I will continue fighting for investments in capital programs that strengthen the Mohawk Valley’s infrastructure and make our community a better place to live and do business.”

Brindisi says the project is part of the required rehabilitation of the Oneida County Sewage Treatment system.
