WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WKTV) - Matt Doheny has won the Republican nomination for Congress in the newly-formed 21st District.
He beat out challenger Kellie Greene 72-28% of the vote, with about 100% of the precincts reporting across the multi-county district.
The counties include Herkimer, Lewis, Jefferson, St. Lawrence, Franklin, Clinton, Essex, Warren, Washington, Saratoga, Fulton, Hamilton.
Doheny is also on the Conservative and Independence lines, so Green needed Tuesday's win to move on to the general election.
Doheny will face Democratic Congressman Bill Owens in November's general election.
