New York seeing flood of outside money from super PACs
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Millions of dollars from super PACs and other outside sources are pouring into New York. The money is funding an onslaught of negative ads that cast targeted U.S. House candidates as job-killing, middle class-taxing, Medicare-slashing, tea partying enemies of democracy.
The cash from business interests, unions, partisan PACs and interest groups is focused on about a half-dozen hard-fought contests.
The race between Republican Chris Collins and Democratic U.S. Rep. Kathy Hochul for the rural and suburban district skirting Buffalo is a top draw for outside money in New York. Little wonder: it could be one of the tightest races in the state. A poll from Siena College last week showed a dead heat.
