UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Utica accountant, Joe Marino, has received the endorsement of the City of Utica Independence Party for the 2011 4th ward Common Council seat.

The Utica City Democratic Party has previously endorsed Marino in May of this year.

"I'd like to thank the New York State Independence Party Committee for recognizing the bi-partisan approach I have been campaigning on," Marino, 32, said. "The City of Utica's well being and financial solvency has and always will be my main priority."

Marino will face Mark Williamson, a retied Commander Master Chief of the U.S. Navy who is endorsed by the Republican Party, and longtime City Official Joan Scalise, who is running for her final term in the 4th ward seat.
