Utica Animal Control to start door-to-door campaign for unlicensed dogs
UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Now's the time to double-check your dog license. According to Utica City Clerk Joan Brenon, the city's Animal Control Officer will begin a door-to-door campaign to check the current status of dog licenses in the city. If your dog is not currently licensed you can obtain one at the city clerk's office on the first floor of Utica City Hall. Brenon says you must present proof of current rabies vaccine and proof of spayed or neutered status, if applicable. Owners of unlicensed dogs may be subject to a $50 fine and/or the seizure of the dog. You can call 315-792-0114, or stop into city hall to obtain your license for $15 for a spayed or neutered dog, or $25 for an unspayed or unneutered dog. You must renew your license every year.
